V rámci čeledi došlo k výraznému rozrůznění mnoha aspektů souvisejících s uvedenými činnostmi a v článku je uvedeno několik zajímavých příkladů.

The article discusses a small passerine family Ptilonorhynchidae (the Bowerbirds). General introduction is followed by a more detailed account of their unique way of courtship. During this process males often construct complicated and large structures called bowers. They serve only one purpose: to attract females. Building, decorating and maintaining take a lot of time – caring for bowers represents the main lifetime task for adult males. The entire process is under pressure from choosy females, which in turn leads to astonishing variety of structures and associated behaviour.
