Příspěvek popisuje taxonomické otázky a rozdíly ve vzhledu, rozšíření a způsobu života severoamerických otakárků, které byly teprve nedávno odlišeny od druhu Papilio glaucus – Papilio canadensis a hlavně P. appalachiensis.

This contribution deals with taxonomic questions and differences in appearance, distribution and bionomics in North American tiger swallowtail butterflies, which have only recently been separated from the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus), namely the Canadian Tiger Swallowtail (P. canadensis) and the Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail (P. appalachiensis).
