V temperátních lesích patagonských And roste několik starobylých endemických druhů dřevin: Fitzroya cupressoides a Pilgerodendron uviferum z čel. cypřišovitých (Cupressaceae) nebo Podocarpus nubigens a Saxegothaea conspicua z čel. Podocarpaceae. Mnoho vzácných a chráněných rostlin najdeme také v bylinném a keřovém patru těchto lesů (Arachnis uniflora, Fuchsia magellanica ad.). Břehové porosty při řekách a jezerech hostí další významný patagonský endemit, tzv. chilskou myrtu (Luma apiculata).

Several ancient endemic woody species grow in the temperate forests of the Patagonian Andes: Fitzroya cupressoides and Pilgerodendron uviferum of the family Cupressaceae or Podocarpus nubigens and Saxegothaea conspicua of the family Podocarpaceae. Many rare and protected plants can also be found in the herb and shrub layers of these forests, such as Arachnis uniflora, Fuchsia magellanica etc. Another important Patagonian endemic species, Chilean myrtle (Luma apiculata), is hosted by bank stands along rivers and lakes.
