The genus Acacia representing xerophilous trees and shrubs has about 1500 species, half of which grow in Australia, where they flower throughout the year. They grow in the wild but due to their attractiveness they are also planted in parks and gardens. Even in Australia industrial development and its aftermath have endangered the environment, which means that some Acacia species are also under threat.
