In the dry and hot summer of 2003 the population density of the Grey Cross Spider (Larinioides sclopetarius) significantly increased on embankments and in houses along the Vltava river in Prague. The invertebrate species prefers a similar habitat and weather conditions were extremely favourable for the increase in its numbers.
